As you can see below I previously left a good review. After more communication, or lack of with the dr and her office I will not return and do NOT recommend this facility at all. It is impossible to get through to anyone unless you have a free 15-20 minutes to wait just for someone to pick up and not be able to answer your questions. I was told I would get ultrasound results the next day, tried calling numerous times, expressed my worry, still never heard back. A week goes by and I FINALLY heard something back after unanswered portal messages and failed attempts at calling. I work in the medical field and it does not take a week to review an ultrasound where the results are returned in 24 hours, nor is it impossible to respond to portal messages. The lack of concern for her patients is apparent in how she handles returning results. I then called to speak with a manager and was told the patient advocate would return my call in 24 hours...here we are 3 days later and nothing!

This doctor should not be caring for elderly patients. My mother almost died and would have, if we didn’t find doctors that care and were proactive with her care. Dr Kirby does not listen to patients or family members, her answer to everything is, “ that is normal for her age”. Desperate for answers at her last visit and after a short hospital stay, my mother was declining, slumped over in a wheel chair, shortness of breath and heart rate over 125in her office, she did nothing, said all her tests are normal. Three days later seeing a new doctor that just met my mother sent her to be admitted to the hospital. Immediately diagnosed my mother with COPD exacerbation and following other tests, a serious lung infection, ulcers & lung nodule. Still being treated by several caring specialist and new primary doctor. Will never take my mother back to Heart and Family, which my sister and I were also patients. St Lucie Medical Center also did not find any of this. So disappointed.

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new PCP. After some research I decided on Dr. Carela Kirby and I’m glad I did. Her next available appointment was 2 months out but there was a last minute cancellation and I was able to see her the next day. I waited about 15 minutes to be called back. She was very patient and took the time to talk to me and learn a little bit about me. She also shared about herself. So glad to have found her. I will recommend her to family and friends.
