Gavin P. Hart, M.D. is a Board Eligible, Adult Reconstruction Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in both primary and revision hip and knee replacement, as well as general fracture care. Dr. Hart began his medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, NC, one of the top residencies in the country. Following residency, Dr. Hart completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Western University in London, Ontario. During this fellowship, Dr. Hart worked with international leaders in hip and knee replacement, specifically focusing on initial joint replacement as well as complex and revision joint replacement surgery. Dr. Hart specializes in Total Hip Replacement through the Anterior approach, a more minimally-invasive, muscle-sparing technique than traditional hip replacement. Patients who receive a total hip replacement through the Anterior approach often experience a more rapid recovery, allowing them to get back to their hobbies and desired activities faster. In addition, Dr. Hart also specializes in Conventional and Computer-Assisted Total Knee Replacement, as well as Partial/Unicompartmental Knee Replacement.
