Dr. Stein has pioneered techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery and has been performing (MIS) minimally invasive hip replacement surgical techniques since 2001. Dr. Stein is co-director of The Sports Medicine Center at SRO and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has undergone recertification as well. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Stein has been in private practice in Santa Rosa for twenty years. He has served as chairman of the Orthopaedic Department as well as the chief of staff at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He has also served six years on the board of directors for the Foundation for Medical Care of Sonoma County. Dr. Stein's professional publication credits include articles in Orthopaedics and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has been active in community organizations, including the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, and C.Y.O. Sports Programs. For over 10 years Dr. Stein was also the team physician for Cardinal Newman High School sports program. His recreational hobbies include cycling, water-skiing, and snow skiing. He and his wife Janna have three children, Jeffrey, Haley, and Nicholas."
