Dr. Clayman called me the same evening I filled out the intake form. He was very accommodating to my schedule and provided reassurance every step of the way. This is the guy you want digging around in your neck, especially if you have failed surgery in the past. I would not go to anyone else.
in Aurora, CO |
I submitted my info on a Saturday morning at 9AM and by 10 AM Dr. Clayman had called me. His kind and calm demeanor put me instantly at ease. I had a full Thyroidectomy with him 2 weeks later - flew from Denver to Tampa and it went extremely smoothly. I would highly recommend Dr. Clayman with no reservations at all.
EI, NC |
I would have saved myself a lot of anguish if I'd had my first surgery with Dr. Clayman. My first was performed by Julie Sosa. Not enough characters here to discuss all the problems I had there, including completely missing a cancerous LN my endocrinologist had emphasized. My 2nd sx with Dr.Clayman was an entirely different experience. Though quite complex due to the scar tissue from 1st Sx and location of my cancer he got it all, even neatened up the bulging nasty scar from 1st. So grateful!
in Land O Lakes |
Dr. Clayman is amazing! It is so refreshing to have a surgeon of his expertise with such an amazing bedside manner! Not only is he a top notch surgeon and professional but he is empathetic, kind and just a calming soul. I deal with a lot of anxiety so surgery was very scary for me. Dr. Clayman and his staff made me feel comfortable and confident from the very start! He personally called me to discuss my situation before surgery and then again to give me the news of my cancer diagnosis. I knew I

No question that this is the place to go for thyroid surgery.
in Ocala, FL |
Knowing where to begin is difficult. I emailed my information to Dr. Clayman at 11a and by 530p HE called - not from a private (don't ever call me) number. He gathered his additional information, had his staff respond to me with details, schedules, etc. They made my part effortless even to hotel/transportation suggestions. From surgery I looked as if I'd had my throat cut side to side (I had) and 8 weeks later it's hardly visible....he's a scapel magician!
in Lutz, Fl |
Dr. Clayman contacted me personally within 24 hours of my request for an appointment. During that 20 minute conversation he reassured me that he could take care of exactly what I needed to resolve my thyroid issues and in fact did so professionally within two weeks. He professional demeanor and surgical skills are the finest I have ever received. The procedure, not an uncomplicated one, went flawlessly. He and his staff are a credit to his profession and it was a pleasure working with him.
in Chandler, AZ |
Dr. Clayman and his team gave me truly expert and compassionate care, which I traveled across the country for. They patiently listened to my many concerns and questions and helped ease an otherwise scary and stressful situation. I had an odd case of an extension of the thyroid gland into the cervical neck, which Dr. Clayman accurately diagnosed and performed quick surgery on. He and his team also showed my family a great degree of kindness, which I am most thankful for.
in West Palm Beach, FL |

Owings Mills, MD |
My entire interaction with Dr. Clayman and Tampa General Hospital was outstanding. After my initial online inquiry, data submission, and phone calls with Dr. Clayman, I felt confident in placing my thyroid cancer surgery in his hands. I was able to fly down to Tampa on a Sunday, get pre-op done on Monday, surgery Tuesday morning, back to hotel Tuesday afternoon, and fly home on Thursday. Four days after surgery, I was able to resume bicycling and rode ten miles!

I am 80 years old. In June 2017, I had a much enlarged thyroid lobe removed. The whole difficult process was smooth painless and with perfect results. My parathyroid glands were safeguarded and my recovery was quick. I did not need any post-surgery medication.Dr.Clayman and his assistants were in touch with me from first application to full recovery. I felt safe and confident. My compliments also go to the Tampa General Hospital and its staff.
thank you so much for your kind words. We are always there for you.

After many tests in my city they found no cancer in my modular thyroid. As an RN I know good and bad medicine. I found Dr Gary Clayman at the Clayman Throid Cancer Institute in Tampa, Fl. His credentials are impeccable! He found a small cancer with his state of the art equipment and removed my thyroid the next day. I would highly recommend him. Susan Shaffer, PCB, Fl.

Exceptional service provided by Dr Clayman and his entire staff. He calmed my fears and performed a complicated & delicate surgery on me. I am 2 months post op & I feel great. I will begin my follow up treatment closer to home. If you are faced with thyroid surgery, do your research, read Dr Clayman's website. Don't let logistics or costs deter you. It can all be worked out. I am living proof! Blythewood SC

After an e-mail to Dr. Clayman describing the size of the nodule in my throat, I received a call from him at 10:45 PM one evening. The next morning (Thursday) I received a call and surgery was scheduled for Monday. I think Dr. Clayman knew I needed surgery right away and he worked me in and surgery was performed at 6:30 PM Monday. This is taking care of people. I did some research prior to this and my experience from his care leaves no doubt i made the right decision.

In February, I was searching for a doctor for a second opinion on what to do regarding a thyroid issue. I found Dr. Clayman during my search and sent him an email describing my issues and my thyroid nodule bioposy results. He called that evening to discuss the email and made recommendations which potentially could included surgery. I had surgery in March. Surgery went great and I'm doing great, too. I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, kind, trustworthy and compassionate doctor.

As an oncology Social Worker from Boston who had the privilege of working with top notch Cancer Surgeons for 5 years at Mass General Hospital, I can honestly say that Dr. Clayman is one of the most knowledgeable, caring, & committed surgeons I've ever met. He truly treats each patient as if they were "his only patient". He's the best surgeon with the most caring team.

Dr. Clayman and his staff are top notch. They are the best in the world at what they do, which gave me confidence during a scary time. But it's so much more than just clinical knowledge. Dr. Clayman has the most wonderful bedside manner. He treated me with kindness & respect. Both he and his staff were quick to answer questions via phone or email. This is the best experience I have ever had with a doctor / doctor's office. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone with thyroid cancer.

Having being told by my Endroconologist that I had a second occurance was very disappointing and kind of unexpected. But he highly recommended dr Clayman for my surgery. When we arrived at Tampa general hospital his staff was amazing. MAde me feel at ease. When Dr Clayman came in he was very personable. Took his time with all of my questions. Our experience with my surgery was a good one. And the nursing staff at the hospital had wonderful things to say about him. Rexommend him and staff!
in Lake Mary, Fl |
Dr Clayman and his staff are organized and experienced. These 2 factors are great to see when you are having surgery, but they are also warm and comforting at the same time. They made me feel very special while in their care.
in Louisville, CO |
I feel blessed and extremely lucky to have had my wife identify Dr. Clayman (through a Medullary "c" FaceBook page & the members who recommending him) to be our surgeon. He immediately put us at complete ease answering our many questions completely & very easily understood. His "bedside" manner is outstanding. Very calm and reassuring. I can't speak more highly of Dr. Clayman. He saved my voice by cutting the "c" out which was tangled around my vocal chords. To sum up, I feel blessed & lucky.
I have treated many patients with medullary thyroid cancer and it is always an honor to be trusted with the care of patients. Having the right surgery the first time by an expert thyroid cancer surgeon is the most important first choice every patient makes. Thank you for trusting me.
