He did hand surgery on me an I had problems a few months after. I called for an appointment because I was going out of town. They said he was booked up! He did surgery on me and I am having probably blems...and he couldn't see me? I asked if he could call me and was told that he did not make phone calls???!!! Very disappointed.

In 2013 I was unable to lift my arm up to a horizontal posistion without pain, and needed help with my right hand to raise it higher. On 12/6/2013 Dr. Blum performed a Latissimus Dorsi Transfer and Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty Surgery. It's been 3 years since the surgery and now I have about 98% movement of the shoulder, pain free and 100% of my strength back. After surgery therapy was done at home. This was the third surgery on my left shoulder, the first 2 done by other physicians.
I felt like i was waisting his time. I had a few questions and concerns and i think he got irritated. Asked if he needed to see me again since i was still in pain and he said no. Told me to get a hand ball to exercise and that was it. Office is really nice and clean and staff was friendly and helpful. I wish i could have gave this a better rating. Would not recommend this doctor. Horrible bed side manner.

I went to him for the first time with my shoulder in extreme pain. He quickly examined me and said that my shoulder was "frozen" and he couldn't do an MRI until my shoulder became "unfrozen". He didn't explain what a "frozen" shoulder was or what caused it. He only gave me a a sheet of paper with arm exercises without saying how often to do them or how many repetitions. That was it!! He didn't even say come back in a month and lets see how your range of motion is doing. Nothing! Just uncaring.

    Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
