An associate professor in the Department of Surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Jacobsen conducts research on minimally invasive and robotically assisted surgical techniques. His research has been published widely. Dr. Jacobsen completed a fellowship at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine. He is board-certified in general surgery."
