Frederick C. Schreiber, DO is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He has expertise in general orthopedic practice including adult and pediatric fracture care, sports medicine and arthroscopy, and joint reconstruction surgery. His current practice focuses on adult reconstruction of the hip and knee.
Dr. Schreiber completed an orthopedic residency and rotating internship at the Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Dr. Schreiber received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
Currently, Dr. Schreiber serves as the Orthopedic Residency Director at Genesys Regional Medical Center, a position he has held since 1983. He is Clinical Associate Professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). Additionally, he is the Lead Program Director for the Orthopedic Section of MSUCOM Statewide Campus System, a consortium of nine community based orthopedic residency programs. He is Adjunct Faculty for multiple osteopathic medical schools throughout the country, including Touro University, A.T. Still University and Pacific Northwest University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Schreiber has held numerous professional and leadership positions. He remains Medical Director for the Orthopedic Service Line at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Dr. Schreiber is past Section Chief and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He served for over 10 years on the Board of Genesys Regional Medical System during the creation of the Grand Blanc campus and Genesys Regional Medical Center. For the last four years, Dr. Schreiber has served as the Chairman of the Board of Managers of Genesys Orthoneuro Co-Management, LLC.
Dr. Schreiber is a member of the Genesee County Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Michigan Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (MOAOS), American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AOAO), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Osteopathic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).
