Dr. Rescorla performed an esophageal surgery on my son many years ago. I have never forgotten him, but not for the glowing reasons that the other reviews reflect. Dr. Rescorla is obviously a highly intelligent and talented surgeon. But I feel he has a God complex. It's hard to know what I can write without having the Riley lawyers knocking at my door, but I will say this....the surgery ended up having an unexpected outcome. I was treated horrendously after I started asking questions. I remember Dr. Rescorla because I've never forgotten how many times he made a young, frightened, and inexperienced mother cry. I'm not overly sensitive. I have an above average intelligence level. If I knew then what I know now, I would have traveled to another state to give my son the treatment that he deserved. However, I was young and scared. I did what I thought was the best I could do for my child....Riley Children's Hospital. Biggest mistake of my life, and I'm still asking my son's forgiveness.

Dr. Rescorla and the Riley Hospital team was amazing! My daughter had surgery for Pectus Excavatum in 2016. She did not want to leave the nurses and asked me if she could return to visit them. She wanted to become a Child Life Specialist.

Dr. Rescorla performed a Nuss procedure to correct my teen son's pectus excavatum. From the moment we first contacted him- just to learn more about the condition and our options, he was incredibly kind, respectful and thorough. He always made time for us, never grew impatient with our endless questions, and made us feel completely at ease. What doctor gives you their cell # and pager # before you've even had surgery? (And we're not the only ones he's done this for.) he is one in a million!
