An error was made in coding the procedure to be performed by Dr. Koranda at the AdventHealth Surgery Center, which increased my out of pocket expense by 63%. An AdventHealth representative acknowledged they were having inaccurate procedure coding issues with Midwest Medical Specialists, yet neither organization will take responsibility, claiming the required upfront payment is only an estimate. This additional 63% increase WAS NOT a result of extenuating circumstances once surgery began. The procedure executed was the pre-planned procedure. This should have be coded correctly up-front so we knew within reason what out of pocket expenses would be. I have tried to resolve this with both entities. AdventHealth points the finger at Midwest Medical Specialists, and Office Manager Barb McCollum will not return my calls. The process leaves you at the financial mercy of both Midwest Medical Specialists and AdventHealth Surgery Center. Proceed with caution.

A wonderful male species. He is warm, professional but nary a hint of a "superiority attitude". He comes across calmly and peacefully that one likes to be in his presence. He simple draws respect from his steady & learned life and person. His mega years of experience is part of the doctor he is. He does not miss a trick; says what one needs to know, treats it and before long, it is gone or upon which will be treated as he deems fit. In my case, he looked, pondered a moment and said "Oh, I know what it is" and that he would be right back. He returned with samples of ointment and tells me how to use it and when to return to his office. One in a million. Gotta-love-em.
