This content was provided by Dr. Hwang "Frank Hwang, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. He attended University of California at Berkeley with a dual major in Biochemistry and Psychology and graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine during which also completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. After completing his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Hwang completed his fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute of John Hopkins University. He served as an associate program director and assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan prior to joining Loma Linda University. Dr. Hwang offers advanced technology lenses in cataract surgery. He also offers laser refractive surgery and implantable collamer lenses. He performs partial thickness corneal transplants and keratoprosthesis surgery in addition to traditional corneal transplants. His research interest include improving outcomes of corneal and cataract surgery and resident education. He manages all anterior segment associated diseases including corneal infections/degenerations, surface tumors, dry eyes, suture fixation of dislocated IOLs and anterior segment reconstruction."
