I have already recommended Dr. Bono to SO MANY people! He is such a genuine and positive person.
in Stuart, FL |
Dr. Bono convinced my 76-yr old mother to have her second lumbar spinal fusion to supposedly provide pain relief. He met with her once. The procedure was his sixth by 10 am. He never met with her in the following week in the hospital. The nurses did not seem surprised. No one could answer our specific questions about details of procedure beyond written records (titanium plate, screws and "cage"). She's in constant pain and wants to have his procedure reversed but no MD will oblige. 0 stars.

Worst experience. We are in the healthcare field and realize how unprofessional this visit was all around. Disorganization of staff aside, after an hour and a half wait, we expected more than a 4 minute visit and some decent answers to our questions. Dr. Bono never reviewed the films or MRI with us as has always been the case with every orthopedic doctor visit and we left with no clear understanding as to how the condition would progress. Will need to see another doctor to get these answers.

Dr. Bono says...

Dr. Bono and his associate Dr. Ronzo have spent their careers innovating minimally invasive surgery. As a result, they have developed highly specialized skills found in only a select group of surgeons in the country and have moved the field forward. Both surgeons are passionate about training others in advanced minimally invasive techniques and have been tapped to train surgeons at annual sessions of the North American Spine Society. Dr. Bono earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, where he was taught a holistic approach to patient care.

Following the completion of a residency program in orthopedic surgery in Michigan, Dr. Bono received advanced training in spine surgery by completing a neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery fellowship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Dr. Bono is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedics, a board recognized by the Florida Board of Medicine. He has an unblemished record with the medical licensing board.

Dr. Bono says...

The advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques used at BioSpine are significantly different than those used by other practices and produce outstanding surgical results for patients — who consistently recover in half the time of patients who undergo open back surgery.

  • Dr. Bono and Dr. Ronzo use three-quarter inch incisions to correct even complex spine disorders because they separate rather than cut the back muscle, creating minimal disturbance and speeding recovery.
  • BioSpine patients do not require hospital stays and often return to daily activities in as little as three days.
  • BioSpine procedures take less than an hour — dramatically reducing the time a patient is under anesthesia.
  • BioSpine patients experience negligible blood loss, need fewer pain medications, have less scarring and a lower risk for post-operative infection. In the last 12 years, no patients have experienced post-operative infections.
  • Dr. Bono and Dr. Ronzo have treated more than 35,000 patients and performed more than 14,000 successful minimally invasive surgeries.
