Chesapeake, VA |
Dr. Kirven is truly the best Orthopedic surgeon in Hampton Road Virginia. He cares and listens to his patients. Regardless of what other doctors say about your condition, he get it right.
New Canton, VA |
I have been a patient of Dr. Kirven for over 16 years. He is a wonderful doctor who takes the time to treat you like a person and not just a chart. He is very knowledgeable and empathetic. His office is clean and efficient and the waiting room is large and comfortable. There is always a wait when you see him, but believe me, he is worth it. You will not find a better doctor in his field in the Tidewater area.
Chesapeake, VA |
The wait time is ridiculous! I have been to see him four times and had to wait 2 hrs, 1.5 hrs, 45 mins. and 2 hrs. I don't mind waiting 45 - 60 minutes occasionally but to be so late all the time is obviously a time management problem and total disrespect for his patient's time. Maybe they shouldn't book so many appointments in a day. Everyone in the waiting room was complaining. I'm glad I don't have to go back.

I've been to other surgeons, that had me in and out of their office in 5 minutes, butchered my back, and refused to believe me when I told them my pain was worse. For those of you that want Fast Food type service for your spine, do not waste Dr.Kirven's valuable time. I would much rather wait as long as necessary, knowing that when my turn comes, the doctor is going to spend the proper time checking me out, listening to me, and paying no attention to his watch. Dr. Kirven is an excellent surgeon

I'm really disappointed and upset .. I called the office a week ago and specifically asked that a message be left for the doctor because I was in excruciating pain. After a week and no returned call I call back the office staff told me they only give him the message it's up to him if he calls and he is a busy man. That made me cry and get furious because after 3 surgeries infections I am his business. So back to the hospital I go. the second person I talked to was at least more sympathetic.

I injured myself on the job and am using worker's comp. Dr. Kirven was on my list of providers to use.The front desk crew was not friendly and were also confused on what the procedure was for worker's comp.I was told I would be seeing Kirven because the other doctor moved to Texas. He never came in for my appointment or acknowledged the mishap. I couldn't stay and wait for him. Made another appointment and got worse treatment today by being told by him "I'm not ready to see you!" UNPROFESSIONAL!
in Norfolk, VA |
I would recommend this doctor to everyone who has been having trouble with their joints. Dr. Kirven has no problem explaining what's going on and a treatment plan to solve the issue. I love his bed side manners.
in Virginia Brach, VA |
I arrived as a new patient to receive treatment after a car accident at 1130 am for an appointment at 12 and sat in the waiting room until around 1pm. When I was called to the back, they took my vitals and left. I then I sat in an exam room until about 145 before I left with a full refund. I will never come back here and would not suggest anyone else does unless you have SEVERAL hours to waste. I never even saw a doctor smh

I have been going to the doctor for many years, I have never seen such NASTY and RUDE office staff!!!!! My staple site on both sides of my foot are infected, I have been going to wound card for twenty-three weeks. The site was infected when I went back two weeks after the surgery... Dr Kirven gave me antibiotics and said to make appt for February. I see that he has good ratings from people but, for me it has been a NIGHTMARE.
in Norfolk VA |
Dr Kirven is one of the best Doctors I have ever been to. I had been going to a bunch of other orthopedic doctors for about a year because both of my hips being bone on bone. All of the other doctors wanted me to lose 100 pounds before I got operated on. Now this would have taken years for me to do as I could barely walk Within 3 weeks of seeing Dr Kirven he had one of my hips replaced. Dr Kirven is always smiling always in a pleasant mood and positive.
Awful. Terrible bedside manner at the hospital and his office. Staff is rude and NEVER helps. l had an infection on both incisions after surgery and it was a nightmare getting antibiotics. The nurses at the office were not helpful at all. 2 weeks post op to have staples removed, infection still present after 2 rounds of antibiotics. Dr placed butterflies as the incisions weren't completely closed where it was infected. Told me it was fine, no therapy needed and to start walking on...
in Portsmouth, VA |
Wonderful experience with Dr, Kirver, he has a wonderful bedside manner, and is very easy to talk to regarding my condition, He preformed shoulder surgery on my husband and we have recommended all our family and friends to him, because he believes in taking care of his patients.
