Dr. Chen was very arrogant and dismissive. I was very specific in asking for an MRI with contrast on my head & spine. He refused to give me the test, said I didn't need it, and walked out of the room. Poor "bedside manner" and does not like to be questioned. It was obvious by my physical that I had a slow reaction to his questions & "tests", but he insisted that I was fine and told me to see a psychiatrist.
Hi Jennifer Wilson, we appreciate you taking the time to respond. The staff at Semmes Murphey takes our reviews very seriously. If possible, our Director of Operations, Karen Adams, would love to speak with you further about this to gain additional insight. She can be reached at 901.522.7724. Thank you.

He walked in the room having already decided what was wrong with me, didn't care about my symptoms, was just generally rude. I left not knowing anymore about my condition than when I entered. I would give zero stars if an option, please try and find someone else to see.

I was Dr. Chen's patient for 3 1/2 months. I had a CT scan in the ER after a car accident, prior to seeing Dr. Chen. It was sent with my records and showed a colloid cyst in my brain, which he never addressed. Even though I constantly complained of headaches, blurred vision, muscle weakness and stiffness, he never sent me for an MRI. Every visit resulted in more physical therapy and pain meds. After changing drs, an MRI showed the cyst and 2 herniated discs in my neck. I had brain surgery.

He did not listen. He wrote down 4 out of 15 symptoms. Unfriendly
