I saw him in the ER. I came in with an asthma attack. He was rude and dismissive insisting that I did not have asthma even though I was diagnosed over 30 years ago. He refused to treat me preferring to discuss a scar rather than address my breathing crisis. Horrible experience. He had no alternative explanation for why I couldn’t breathe he just loudly insisted it was NOT ASTHMA. He badgered me to breathe deeply and to explain why I was whispering. I kept saying I have asthma and he kept telling me I didn’t even though I had never seen him before. I even told him I was diagnosed by a pulmonologist and he continued to argue with me. I would give zero stars if that were an option. Absolutely devoid of compassion

Was admitted to the ER late on a weeknight with gall stones. (So I came to find out). Dr Scharrer was friendly and kept my worries at ease. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor to help me through my few hours in the ER
