Dr Sundberg has been a Godsend to me. Recently had ALIF surgery and even though it’s only been 2 1/2 weeks I have zero doubts I made the right decision with the best surgeon. He explains everything, shows you exactly what the problem is and doesn’t make you feel rushed to leave. His entire team has been wonderful and attentive to me. I highly recommend Dr Sundberg and I’m excited to continue my progress in getting my life back.

I’ve experienced significantly worsening leg pain (both legs) for the past six years. In one surgery, Dr. Sundberg completely eliminated that pain. Additionally, my recovery is exceeding all expectations regarding pain and capability. I’m so fortunate to have been placed in this compassionate professional’s care

With me, Dr Sundberg , 3 years ago believed pain management was a viable option to surgery. Which it was for 2.5 years. Went back to him when pain management was no longer effective. We determined surgery was now my solution. Two options were discussed, one more invasive. He recommended the less invasive surgery. I am now recovering nicely and believe the surgery was a success. I really appreciate that he originally looked at options to having surgery. Very open mind, and his confidence definitely relaxed me for the procedure. Would go to him again, and would not hesitate to recommend him to a family member.

Best way to describe my experience is that I went from a pain level of 10, where it was extremely painful to even stand or walk even a few steps, to PAIN FREE! His staff is professional, efficient and pleasant. Dr Sundberg has been accessible and always willing to answer any questions I had before or after surgery. He was able to get me in for surgery just before the Covid elective surgery shut down, which saved me an additional 3 months of excruciating pain. I have been pain free almost immediately after surgery and with the help of the Coastal Physical Therapy group (Justin) I expect to be able to begin playing golf again shortly. I feel as back to normal as a person can in these times and don't dread having to stand up and move to do everything!

I am 6 months into recovery from major back surgery performed by Dr. Eric Sunberg. I had a back fusion involving the L4-L5 discs. I had tried all other conservative treatments in addition to 4+ years of pain management, without any relief. I am very happy I had the surgery and I’m feeling better every month. It takes a full year for complete recovery, but I’m already doing activities that I could not do prior to the surgery. Dr. Sunberg is an excellent surgeon and his staff is exceptional. As good as he is, the patient has to do their part to ensure the best chance of total success. The physical therapy is essential and personal diligence to adhere to your own exercises to build on what you learned in physical therapy is so important. I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful surgeon.

I tried everything to alleviate my back pain - physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, epidurals, and spinal cord stimulator. I was reluctant, as I had back surgery nine years ago, to try that option again. However, Dr. Sundberg performed a complex front and back spinal fusion and three months later I am walking beaches and swimming, pain free. He is professional, straightforward and empathic. I give him and his staff five stars.

I suffered with sciatica pain down both legs for One year. I tried all the conventional therapies from physical therapy to acupuncture with poor results. All of my pain was gone immediately post surgery after Dr. Sundberg Replace the disk at the 04 L5 level and did a laminectomy. I’m two weeks postop with no pain except the usual discomfort following surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Sundberg.

My experience with Dr. Sundberg, his (Physician Assistant) Kristen, & staff at Coastal Orthopedic was absolutely phenomenal. Through testing & other procedures I was diagnose with cervical stenosis. The pain radiated from top of right arm to my fingertips. Hearing the word "surgery" was devastating. This was my first major surgery. The fear of such a delicate & precise surgery was daunting. I had my surgery in December 2019 & the experience from pre-op to post-op went so smoothly it was truly a miracle...absolutely no pain. Dr. Sundberg & Kristen were absolutely fantastic. Kristen was very accommodating & patient in answering all my questions. I never felt that I was being rushed. I put my trust & faith in Dr. Sundberg who I consider a miracle worker. I highly recommend Dr. Sundberg to anyone who has similar spinal-related issues.

I am very pleased to have found Dr. Eric Sundberg and the resources of Coastal Orthopedics. After exploration and testing of a number of options, and addressing realistic expectations, Dr. Sundberg and I made the decision for back surgery under his care. The process is successful. Today, I am free of pain and with targeted physical therapy, well on the way to improved mobility and balance. I found Dr. Sundberg and the Coastal staff to be involved, compassionate and supportive of my goals every step in the decision and recovering process. Donald Stork

Great spine surgeon, with gifted hands. In February of 2019, I had a successful 2 stage lumbar spine surgery, 4 level fusion and a laminectomy. Now, not quite two months later, I’m feeling great. He also has a good bed-side manner and explains everything quite well.
