Dr. Simko is an excellent doctor. He takes the time to explain things thoroughly and seems to truly care about you as a patient. He has surgically removed a lesion from my tongue as well as a tumor from my salivary gland/jaw area. Both times he was competent, kind, and eager to follow up to make sure things were going well. He has been happy to talk to me himself on the phone (rather than always passing it off to a nurse), and fit me in at the last minute to check on my post-surgical wound when I had concerns about its healing. I also have a close friend who has had wonderful care from Dr. Simko. I would (and will) highly recommend him to others.

Dr. Simko is amazing. I have total respect for him. I’ve had tightened nasal breathing and migraines for almost 15 years (I’m 34 now). I’ve had 2 PCPs, 3 ENTs, 3 head CTs, a sinus surgery, and up to 4 meds at a time (split between here mostly and Kansas City for 18 mos.). I was always told I had severe sinusitis (and the PCP here swore that was caused by severe allergies). I switched PCPs to TPMG in Feb ‘20 and was sent to Dr. Simko. 1st appt he said he saw no signs of allergy or sinusitis. He did allergy testing and a CT to confirm. He pulled my prior CT from Sentara and found no sign of sinusitis. I only had 3 appts because everything came back 100% clean. He was totally honest and said I didn’t have sinusitis or allergies and to not let any doctor tell me that again. That I need a neurologist, and weight fluctuation causes the tight breathing. He could’ve strung me along and kept me as a patient for the money like most docs, but he didn’t. I couldn’t say enough good about him.

This was my initial visit with Dr. Simko. He could not have been more professional, thorough and personable. Dr. Simko took a good bit of time with me and fully explained his diagnosis while allowing sufficient time for my questions. Both his admin staff and audiologist were also impressive as well as efficient. I highly recommend this practice.

I was referred to Dr. Simko by my PCP after a bout of acute sinusitis left my left ear stopped up. He was always on time with my appointments. He explained everything in detail with language that I could understand. He was sympathetic to my desire to avoid surgery if possible and worked with me to exhaust all non-surgical methods for clearing my ear. Eventually, I elected to have a tube put in my left ear. He explained exactly what would happen during the procedure, which put me at ease because I knew what to expect. I also liked the fact that after your appointment his staff posts in the TMPG Patient Portal a Patient Plan and any followup instructions. Although Dr. Simko reviews that information with you before you leave his office, it is nice to have a written plan. I will definitely use Dr. Simko again for any ENT issues I may have.

Dr. Simko is GOLDEN—the highest quality of doctor you’ll encounter. Over the years I’ve spent an INCREDIBLE amount of time, money and energy bouncing through many doctors in a futile attempt to get my allergies under control. And then I met Dr. Simko. Dr. Simko keeps up-to-date on the latest research and findings, answers questions very thoroughly and takes the time to educate his patients in a very respectful way. After just ONE visit I learned an incredible amount about my symptoms and how to EFFECTIVELY treat them. Before switching to Dr. Simko I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on poor suggestions and misleading recommendations—Wow! I am astounded at how knowledgeable, respectful and HONEST this doctor is. He is very well versed in his field (and beyond) and provides complete care beyond the scope of other ENT doctors and professionals who claim to treat allergy symptoms. I have learned a lot from Dr. Simko, spent less money and now understand better ways to care for my body resultin

I was referred to Dr. Simko. My wife and I went in for the initial appointment. He was very thorough during the visit. He explained all aspects of the treatment before and after surgery. Before taking me in for surgery, he met with my wife, who was very nervous, and calmed her down by going over the entire procedure with her again and answering all of her questions. The surgery went very well. After the surgery, he met with my wife again to give her the details and his direct number to call if we had any issues over night. The next day, he came to my hospital room to see how I was doing and he personally changed my bandage. I knew I was in good hands from our first meeting, but the way he treated my wife, ensuring she was comfortable and at ease, meant the world to me. My wife loves him because she says he treated me as if I was his only patient and as if he was responsible for both our well being. We were in reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy hands with Dr. Simko.

I was referred to Dr. Simko in September 2019 when I had a bout with Bells Palsy and suffered loss of hearing in my right ear. He was very thorough and had me return for follow-up visits twice. I saw him this morning; my hearing is getting better in my right ear and he believes it will return 100%. His staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Simko highly.

First appt experience: very nice receptionist, long wait in exam room, I could hear every word from doc to other patients in their exam rooms, my time was rushed, did exam without explaining what he was doing or why he was doing it, did share what he observed, tone of voice harsh when I asked questions, “bedside manner” needs much improvement, my question to biopsy or not: “that’s up to you,” left feeling like I was treated unkindly and I will look for a new ENT.
