A board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Los Angeles, Eric S. Millstein, MD, is an expert in performing advanced arthroscopic techniques for shoulder and knee surgery. With years of experience in treatment sports injuries, including arthroscopic surgery, reconstruction of the knee, hip, and shoulder, and joint replacement surgery for arthritis of the shoulder and the knee, Dr. Millstein is an expert in providing patients with the best and most innovative sports medicine procedures. At Millstein Orthopedics, Dr. Millstein's ultimate goal is to provide patients with surgeries that minimize pain, maximize function, and restore an active lifestyle. On more than one occasion, Dr. Millstein has been recognized as a Southern California Super Doctor (a directory that lists the top 5% of physicians in every state) for his expertise in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. A Chicago native, Dr. Millstein completed his undergraduate studies with honors in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the School of Medicine at Penn with AOA honors. Additionally, Dr. Millstein received the George Marshall Award for Excellence. Dr. Millstein completed his general surgery and orthopedic residency training at the University of Chicago, which was followed by eighteen months as a fellow in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Millstein currently mentors and teaches advanced arthroscopic surgery techniques and procedures to fellow surgeons. As a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Dr. Millstein has presented research on long-term outcomes of ACL reconstruction and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
