The main reason I urge anyone to stay away from Dr. Balaguer and Hand Institute in general is simply because he's does not care about patient's well-being. The only thing he cares about is his pocket. He had told me that a surgery for a sagittal band tear is the only option. Got a second opinion, turns out a conservative option was available. You will also be forced to wait for hours, because that place is like a factory, they have people waiting in several rooms simultaneously. Stay away!!
It's truly unfortunate that you did not have a good experience in our practice. We understand that waiting times can sometimes be a problem so we are constantly working on improving this issue. Regarding sagittal band ruptures, they are treated surgically and non surgically dependending on timing of the injury, the patient's age and activity level. Financial considerations NEVER takes part in our recommendactions. I hope your injury healed well Eric J Balaguer

Dr. Balaguer as most of the staff at The Hand Institute are the greatest, but there is always a bad seed every where and there is Roselle Cohen, his P.A. She's the most unprofessional, most unethical person I've ever been in contact with and I do work as an x ray tech in a hospital. She has no bedside manners, nor much shown knowledge of the profession and is rude and unpleasant. If you need to see Dr. Balaguer, just make sure you don't have to see her too. Another draw back is the waiting time
Iliana, that's so much for your feedback. I will look into and address your concerns. Thanks Eric J Balaguer
