Dr. Lott's bio
This content was provided by Dr. Lott "Dr. Lott is from Weston, Mo., (population 1,631) by way of Atchison, Kan. She graduated from West Platte R-II in Weston as co-valedictorian. After high school, she went on to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City's accelerated 6-year medical school, where she earned her undergraduate degree with a major in liberal arts as well as her medical degree, graduating in 2004. Dr. Lott initially entered residency in general surgery at UMKC, but after a difficult year which included the illness of several family members and a traumatic death, she did some soul-searching and decided to return to her primary care roots. Before entering Family Medicine residency with UMKC at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood, she spent a year at UMKC working with medical students at a program for board preparation. Dr. Lott completed her family medicine residency in 2009 and went on to do a fellowship in Sports Medicine also at TMC-Lakewood in Lee's Summit. Dr. Lott then spent 2 years at Swope Medical Center Northland in Riverside, Mo. Although she enjoyed many aspects of her job there, she missed being able to mix sports medicine with primary care and decided Barry Pointe might offer more opportunities in this arena. She enjoys the many aspects of family medicine but has special interests in sports medicine, pediatrics, and preventative care. Dr. Lott is married to Stan Viebrock, who counsels osteopathic medical students at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. When not at work, they enjoy spending time with their dog, Lucy, as well as their families. Dr. Lott also loves to read and watch sports (all kinds, but especially MU football and basketball, professional baseball, and professional football). She also frequently runs and bikes for fun and exercise. She has participated in 5K runs and has inspired her parents to do the same. She has also completed a few half marathons. Included in her "bucket list" is completing a marathon."
