Following her residency she pursued additional training by fulfilling a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Anderson is one of very few dermatologists in Knoxville and East Tennessee to hold dual board certification, a distinction that demonstrates her extensive training and expertise. Prior to moving to Knoxville, Dr. Anderson was an Associate Professor of Dermatology at The Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she trained young dermatologists and pursued her academic research. Dr. Anderson has been serving the Knoxville community for over ten years. Dr. Anderson is one of Knoxville's experts in comprehensive medical, pediatric, and surgical dermatology as well as cosmetic dermatology and dermatopathology. Dr. Anderson is consistently featured in Knoxville's CityView Magazine as one of East Tennessee's top dermatologists. The magazine asked hundreds of Knoxville's doctors "who they would choose if they needed specialized care". Those doctors overwhelmingly chose Dr. Anderson as one of Knoxville's best dermatologists. Her specific medical interests include skin cancer, psoriasis, and eczema. She has performed thousands of cutaneous surgery procedures. Dr. Anderson's additional training and board certification in dermatopathology provides her expertise in interpreting skin biopsies, which allows her to better diagnose and treat her patients. Dr. Anderson also has a strong interest in cosmetic dermatology, where she combines her artistic background and medical expertise to improve her patients' appearance and self-confidence. Dr. Anderson and her husband, a Knoxville retina surgeon, both grew up in Tennessee where their families still live. They are parents of two young children."
