He is an alumnus of Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated summa cum laude with highest honors in Biology. He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating in 2007, earning induction to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and receiving the Elliot V. Newman Research Award. He subsequently served as resident in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University, where he was named Chief Resident from 2010-2011. He then completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Friedman has authored a number of articles on personalized medicine approaches to the diagnosis and management of heart failure and ischemic heart disease. He lives in Nashville with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, cooking, and glass bead making. Dr. Friedman is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. "
