My experience as an original skeptic of Oncologist in general; He is a very capable Oncologist that will consider all viable solutions that make sense for the individual patient. He spends sufficient time with you to address the health concerns. He also holds pretty close to your scheduled appointments time frame. Never have I had to wait too long to see him. Lastly, his staff is very welcoming and friendly.

Follow-up from hospitalization. Visits to hospital very much needed and appreciated. Last visit was day after release and was punctual and thorough with follow-on needs clearly explained. Still working on exact cause of blood problem.

Too notch! I am alive today because of Dr. McClay. Stage 4 Melanoma and given one year to live by other doctors. He is the only reason I can write this review. I have known him for 20 years and knew many of the patients he has saved.

Excellent. I was referred to Dr. McClay after being diagnosed with stage IV melanoma cancer with prognosis of about 6 months to live and not many more months with normal chemotherapy. Fortunately Dr. McClay was very up to date on the latest research of newly approved FDA approved immunotherapies. He was aggressive and constant adapting my treatment plan in beating the cancer, my symptoms and helping me managing my side effects. I remain in remission thankfully and he has been very diligent to help me with a few remaining side effects of the immunotherapy. He is a busy man but I think he is an outstanding scientist/physician.

Dr. McClay made my mom feel invisible while she died from pancreatic cancer. Weeks went by after her stage IV diagnosis without a treatment plan while she was hospitalized several times as the cancer spread throughout her body. Treatment was only talked about 8+ weeks after her diagnosis, at which point she had been told by another doctor that she had less than 6 months to live and that chemo could be detrimental to her health, but Dr. McClay pushed for it anyway, dodging questions about side effects. My mom spent the last few precious months of her life waiting for a plan from Dr. McClay and only heard back when it was too late. We knew pancreatic cancer had horrible odds, but the entire time my mom watched as her own body was ravaged by this aggressive cancer, her doctor couldn’t be bothered to help. I’d look elsewhere to find yourself an oncologist that values your life.

Dr. McClay was very highly recommended to me by my dermatologist after discovering a melanoma on my back. Our relationship has continued for over 3 years, and he is now treating me for metastatic melanoma. I couldn’t recommend Dr. McClay more highly. He is truly interested in you as if his only patient. I trust him implicitly, and appreciate the time he takes to explain everything thoroughly, even writing it down as we review options for treatment when necessary.

Having had cancer 20 years ago, I asked him if there were new treatments. He told me of one for my type, and I agreed to be treated with new procedures. In my case, it worked beautifully. I am, for now, cancer-free. Dr. McClay keeps up with his field's new strategies. He took special interest in my case because he was guiding me toward future cancer remedies.
