Dr. Edward Kowlowitz, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in Pain Management and Pain Medicine. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Pain Management and American Board of Addiction Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Kowlowitz is the founder and Medical Director of the Center for Pain Management. He has been practicing medicine for over 20 years and is well known in the medical community as a leading expert on chronic and acute pain management and treatment. He is also an international leader in spinal cord stimulation therapy.
Prior to opening the Center for Pain Management in 1992, Dr. Edward Kowlowitz, MD served as chief of anesthesiology at Physicians Care Outpatient Surgical Center and medical director of the Winona Hospital Pain Management program. As a leading authority in treating chronic neuropathic pain , he has conducted extensive research and training with Advanced Neuromodulation Systems. Through his career, Dr. Edward Kowlowitz has helped improve the safety and effectiveness of neuromodulation devices such as spinal cord stimulators. Spinal cord stimulator implants are often well suited for patients with post laminectomy syndrome (failed back surgery syndrome), Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or non-operative spondylosis.
