Hey, I'm a trans guy who went to see him about how testosterone would affect my acne. he was an MONSTER. he convinced me that my gender only comes down to my genitalia, and when i corrected him on my pronouns, he told me i was wrong. after being told i needed to take a PEE TEST, i told him i felt uncomfortable and needed to leave -- he denied my request and told me i could not leave until after the test was performed. His nurses even coerced me into staying. In short -- What the heck. regardless of how you feel about other-gendered folks (trans, non-binary, etc), you are still required to remain professional in a setting in which you are getting paid more an hour than i make in a week. Even if you're Cis, i could never recommend going here. I've never met someone who views a patient as their "parts" as much as this guy. Straight up cried in the parking lot after seeing this guy. So yeah! My acne is my biggest insecurity but I'd rather deal with my acne than Dr. Esparza.

Absolutely pathetic! After one brief appointment, and after having had skin cancer surgery twice already, I was very anxious about my appointment, having two new growths. His dismissive attitude to my concerns was palpable. I had anxiety for several days before the appointment, and he told me I should worry. After suggesting to him in a constructive way that maybe he should not use that word (a word associated with an illness I have - anxiety) because I struggle with anxiety, he was defensive.
