It is very bad to need brain surgery (in my case a nasty DAVF), but I consider myself lucky to have had the incredible care that I received. Eight weeks out and feeling very close to my old self. This is an amazing group of people. I am sure that I chose correctly and would absolutely recommend Dr Connolly and his team. I have no doubt that although recovering from brain surgery is difficult, it was much easier due to not only surgical skill, but also to the medical and especially the emotional support provided by Dr. Connolly and most remarkably Nurse Practitioner Evangeline Reyes-Pastorella, who is one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever met. I am no doubt a high maintenance patient (lots of fear, questions and family issues) which were all treated with remarkable respect and thoroughness not common in today's medical environment. Thank you Dr. Connolly and the entire team.

Through many recommendations and much research we put my care in the hands of Dr. Connolly and Dr. Feldstein. Their experience and knowledge guided them through my treatment and brain surgery.I could not recommend them more.I will be eternally grateful that I was taken care of and operated on by these two amazing doctors. In addition, it should be mentioned that in this practice they have a truly incredible Physician’s Assistant.Evangeline was knowledgeable caring and supportive through it all.

I had an appointment with a neurosurgeon in New Jersey. She told me that there was only one doctor that I wanted to go to for my condition - Dr. Connolly. I was scared for my life and my future, but Dr. Connolly immediately made me feel more at ease. He was humane and approachable in an office setting. My procedure went smoothly and my recovery has been almost miraculous.

The moment I met Dr. Connelly and his Nurse Practitioner, Evangiline, I was immediately put at ease. Dr. Connelly explained my anuerysm clip surgery, which was a little more complicated due to a previous coil embolization on the same anuerysm in 2014. I have never met a doctor and his NP as calm and caring as Dr. Connelly and Evangeline in my life. They are truly are a credit to their profession. They are Angels blessed with the gift of healing. They are an amazing team!

While I hope and pray me or a member of my family ever has the need again for Dr. Connolly's expertise, He would be the only choice. His calm easy going demeanor, and his explanation of my condition and options put my mind at ease. Dr. Connolly was recommended to me by my family doctor of 35 years whose wife is also a patient of Dr. Connolly. He told me Dr. Connolly was the only choice and he was right on.

Amazing surgeon, caring and listens to you and your concerns. Very experienced in the field of moya moya. Truly cares about his patients and has excellent team including his nurse practitioner Evangeline. I interviewed across the country including Stanford and Mayo and found that I had the most comprehensive care and best explanations from this Columbia team.

I met Dr. Connelly in Dec. 2017. He was very respectful, soft spoken, good looking and very knowledgeable about aneurysm. My surgery was done in Jan. 2018 & stayed in the hospital for 3 days. Walking as much as I can everyday was all that was required of me. My family & I will always be grateful to him and to his NP Evangeline. With prayers & with the best neurosurgeon, a beautiful and meaningful life is possible after surgery for brain aneurysm.

From the time I walked into the office, I felt as if I was in good hands. I went to see him with my family at Columbia Hospital. Dr. Connolly explained all the the details about my AVM (brain surgery). His NP, Evangeline is super nice, always smiling. Dr. Connolly has such a positive and calming personality. I was truly impressed by the way they both took care of me. I would totally recommend him to anyone.

I had 2 strokes and was diagnosed with a kind of rare disease called moyamoya and was referred to Dr. Connolly due to his level of expertise with it. He had to perform a temporal artery transplant in my skull. Brain surgery. I was terrified. But after reading everything about Dr. Connolly I realized I was in the best possible hands and I was fine. The surgery was a breeze, I barely have a scar! His NP Evangeline is amazing! She walked me thru it before, during & after. Great experience

On March 8th 2018 I arrived at Columbia Presbiterian's emergency room with the worst headache of my life. After a series of tests I was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm. Doctor Connolly performed emergency surgery on March 9th to repair the rupture and clip my aneurysm. Three weeks later on March 26th he performed a second surgery to clip an enrapture aneurysm. Dr. Connelly was extremely professional and just three weeks after my second surgery I was back to my normal life and working.
