In 2001 I had very bad knees due to my playing tennis all my life. I called the Andrews clinic and became a patient of Dr. Andrews. They came to me and asked if I would be willing to changed to one of Dr. Andrews’ protégées. I said yes and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Dr. Cain was very professional and gentle, and not too bad to look at either I am now 82 years young and have never had any problems thanks to Dr. Cain

Dr Cain performed total knee replacement on my worst arthritic knee on 3/10/2020. I did 4 months of professional guided PT for proper recovery. This entire time my knee, lower leg and foot were swollen with extreme discomfort. All phases of this medical process were flawed. At 76 years of age this treatment resulted in an impaired quality of life rather than an improved one I had hoped for. On my follow up visit on on 3/1/2021, a year after surgery, I expressed concern to Dr Cain that my knee was still very uncomfortable which impaired my mobility and stamina. His only response was that the x-rays looked fine and I was released. So, I guess he did not CARE! I think this is important for others to know and is why I have posted this modest explanation of an unpleasant experience.

I injured my right shoulder in the fall of 2019 while working on my lawn mower deck. By first quarter of 2020, arthritis set in, and movements of shoulder were very painful. Due to the COVID pandemic, I did not want to experience a hospital stay, so I sat and watched westerns on tv most of 2020. In October, I bit the bullet and lined up with Dr. Lyle Cain for total right shoulder replacement, which took place on October 29, 2020. I have had a very successful recovery and now am lifting my 30+ # grandson over my head. Thank you, Dr. Cain. I would recommend you and Andrews Sports Medicine to anyone, young or old. I am a young 67 year old. Many thanks!

I was experiencing some sudden pain in a knee that Dr. Cain performed a total replacement on 8 years ago. His team was quickly able to work me into his schedule and I flew from Richmond, Va to Birmingham to see Dr. Cain. He was able to identify the source of the pain in another area of my body that was impacting my knee and put together a treatment plan that is addressing the issue. His team was amazingly supportive as we worked through the day and I'm already feeling better. And most importantly, the knee replacement was confirmed to be in perfect shape and I don't need additional surgery. Thanks Dr. Cain and team - great job!

Dr. Cain has replaced both knees and shoulder surgery. He is truly “The Man.” When other doctors say it can’t be fixed, not only does he make the repairs, he got me back to running, throwing. He truly gave me my life back. Dr. Cain is simply the best.
