Dr. E. Brantley Burns, board certified orthopaedic surgeon, is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He began his medical studies at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. After a surgical internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, Dr. Burns served as a general medical officer in Germany for two years. He then completed his orthopaedic residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Burns continued his career as a staff orthopaedic surgeon at Fort McClellan Army Medical Center in Alabama. He completed a hand surgery fellowship at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and has been practicing orthopaedics in Knoxville since 1990. Additionally, he is board certified in hand and upper extremity surgery. Memberships include the Knoxville Orthopedic Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Burns also concentrates in foot and ankle surgery and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
