Chose Dr. Egea for his web bio, well written. Actual experience of patient - doctor relation was very disappointing. To sum up -- Dr. Egea is good at socializing medicine, and not so much as the Emory graduate physician I had hoped for. His interest seemed more in playing the status role of being a physician and not actually being one. I found his ability lacking in listening to hear and address issues with medical skill. His staff often (too often) called in the wrong prescription for medications. Very disappointed and sought medical care elsewhere. Just because they have an MD after their name, does not mean they are a good, well qualified physician who has the patients best course of treatment on his agenda.

I love Dr Egea as a person and as an excellent pulmonologist. I first met him when I was admitted to the hospital due to Type A flu in 2017, with asthma complications. Dr Callahan was not available, so Dr Egea came to visit me. He was new to the practice, and I decided to switch to Dr Egea, since we became well acquainted, and I was impressed over several days at the hospital. Now when I go to the office, he always remembers me, is interested in how I am doing, and best of all, he listens!

Great experience. He is the first pulmonologist I have seen so I can't compare him to other pulmonologists; however, I can compare him to other doctors I've had. I can confidently say he rates among the top doctors I have seen. He was very knowledgeable and very personable. Down to earth and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. He spent a great deal of time with me answering all my questions. I would recommend him to any of my family members. Staff was great too.
