Birmingham, AL |
Dr Edison's is an average doctor. I went to see him for my Thyroid issue but it seems to me he was not able to handle it properly. His staff is not cooperative at all. If i need some refill or suggestion there is no call back. I have to call them 4 to 5 times then I will get a response the nurses are very rude and have no manners how to talk to the patients.

Dr.Goncalves is a decent doctor. He is knowledgeable and is nice when you are speaking to him. Now, the problem with this office is that they overbook their appointments so you wait no less than 2 hrs to see him.I was told if I schedule right at 7am I would be in and out but the 2 times that I did that there were 5 other people waiting for the doors to open so I did not get "right in and out".The staff is insanely unorganized and loopy would be the best word without being mean. Never going back!

This doctor is amazing. I had been to other doctors and they told me that "I didn't look sick", but Dr. Goncalves listened to me.
Birmingham, AL |
I made an appt last week to see dr Goncalves this morning and 1 1/2 hours after arriving, I was called to the desk to present insurance information. I was informed that he no longer accepted Medicare patients. No mention was made at the time of scheduling or via mail. I was told they weren't obligated to let all patients know and that it was up to me to let them know I had turned 65 and my primary insurance had changed to Medicare since my last visit. However, I could see him today for $75.

This practice is old-school and I dig it. Dr. Goncalves spends time in the exam room explaining labs, methodology and courses of treatment. He is steadfast and experienced -- a true gentleman. I am now considered controlled and am very thankful that we found each other after many fits and starts on my part with a general practice. I have recommended him to many. This is not a Disneyland practice, nor does it need to be -- the care is efficient, focused and excellent.
in Gadsden, AL |
I credit Dr Goncalves with my being alive today. After suffering for almost 4 months at the hands of several QUACKS in Gadsden, AL I was desperate. My Blood sugar levels were never less than 700...I was, after 4 months, out of my mind. I went to Dr Goncalves and within 2 weeks he had me off insulin with my levels below 200...These quacks in Gadsden will kill people and not think twice about it. Needless to say Dr Goncalves is highly recommended by me!!!
