I had parathyroidectomy at Tampa General Hospital’s Norman Parathyroid Center on December 16, 2019. I traveled down to Tampa from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and I can tell you already that it was so worth it, even though I had to pay for the whole surgery by myself. Entire staff in Tampa General Hospital’s Norman Parathyroid Center is amazing. Everyone from their receptionist, transport team, nurses, anesthesia team and surgeons were so kind and caring. I had pleasure of having Dr. Douglas E. Politz as my surgeon and he did a flawless and totally professional job!!! The surgery only took thirty minutes with zero complications. I had no pain after operation, only soreness which is to be expected. So far on January 2020 my incision is healing beautifully. The night after the surgery Dr. Politz gave me a call to see how I was doing and made sure to let me know to contact him if I had any questions or concerns. Dr. Politz is by far the best doctor I have had. Thank you Dr. Politz.

A few weeks ago, I drove to Tampa to undergo a parathyroidectomy at the Norman Center, associated with Tampa General Hospital. My surgeon was Dr. Douglas Politz, truly one of the most skilled surgeons I have ever met. He is not only highly competent, but also very kind and caring. He communicated with my husband and me before the surgery, explaining what will take place, answering all our questions, and giving us much needed reassurance. After the operation, he came to discuss the results and answered additional questions with patience and compassion. Over the next week, I had a question and left a message for Dr. Politz to call me, and he returned my call right away. I later also spoke with his nurse who answered questions I had and gave me added reassurance. The total experience at the Norman Center was unparalleled. It is very well run, organized, timely, with friendly staff and nurses, and all this professionalism made the experience wonderful.

This was my second visit in 10 years. Dr. Politz is one of the few surgeons in the WORLD skilled in the delicate parathyroid surgery that he performed on me. His bedside manner is amazing for such a world renown surgeon. He treats you like family, he takes time to explain everything and answer all your questions. Him, not his nurse. I find this very rare in today’s busy world. I highly recommend Dr. Politz. Elaine Lee.

Dr Politz and his team of surgeons are the very best in the nation. From the beginning all the way through the surgery and beyond they all are so supportive and reassuring. No one in Los Angeles does this type of surgery with finess like these surgeons do. I love each of them and will highly recommend to everyone I come in contact with. If not for the Norman parathyroid center I would still be having serious issues. They found and removed two tumors (parathyroid glands) that went bad.

After four failed surgeries over the past 30 years, I had given up all hope of a cure for my hyperparathyroidism. That changed when I met Dr. Politz; his kindness, compassion, and extensive knowledge gave me hope for a good outcome for the first time in many years. The surgery was a success, and I feel fantastic! A huge thank you to Dr. Politz and the dedicated staff at NPC for this miracle in my life. Dr. Politz is beyond awesome!

Dr Politz assisted Dr Boone on my September 2018 parathyroid surgery. He was friendly and attentive with patients and staff. My surgery went great (yes, it’s surgery, so it does hurt for a few days) and the results after two weeks already exceed my expectations; I feel so much better! If you have a parathyroid adenoma, don’t delay. I did a lot of research, and Dr Politz and the team at Norman Parathyroid Center are the best in the country.

Dr. Politz is amazing. Giving someone their life back is nothing short of a miracle, but he gave me that gift. I had 3 parathyroid tumors (WHO KNEW!) He removed them all and had me good as new in 19 minutes. His compassion is second to none and I encourage everyone with high calcium to please seek him out. Read the info on Norman Parathyroid Center website. Don't wait! It can't hurt, it can only make you better!

Excellence in every respect! From my initial consultation through surgery and follow up, Dr. Politz was expert, professional and accessible. His surgical approach (see his website at parathyroid.com) ensures the best outcome for his patients. I interviewed respected endocrine surgeons in NYC and Boston and none compared! I recommend him enthusiastically! Don’t hesitate to travel to Tampa to have him as your parathyroid surgeon!!!

Dr. Politz is very kind . He took time to educate me on my Hyperparathyroid issue before and after my surgery May 10,2018. This is the only place I recommend a person go if he or she has issues. Please look up the Norman Parathyroid Center & call to ask questions don’t delay your health!! You can do this yourself. Dr.Politz and the other Doctors are here to help us. They know more than anyone else I’ve ever seen over the last 4 plus years hence the words, ‘World Renouned’ doctors!!
