In 2014 Dr Payne created a new practice called myWELLNESS®. This new and exciting way to receive medical care will change the way your are used to experiencing visits to the doctor. With myWELLNESS®, Dr Payne is able spend time taking care of every aspect of your health. Our average appointments last 30-60 minutes. Our average wait time is less than 10 minutes. Our patients are treated comprehensively at each visit. Urgent issues are guaranteed same-day appointments in most cases. But that is just the beginning.
Did we mention, you our patients have the doctor's cell number? While our office does everything possible to make sure your health is taken care of, there are times you just need to speak to the doctor directly. All our patients are given the doctor's cell number and may contact him 24/7. Then there is preventive care.
Each myWELLNESS® patient has a wellness plan developed every year. This plan is used as a road map to guide the prevention of future illness. Being proactive instead of reactive when it comes to illness is critical for future health. Our Tier 2 members receive an Executive Physicals that is based on those done at the Mayo and Cooper Clinics. These members also receive hospital care should they become ill enough to be admitted.
Weight loss is another service included for all myWELLNESS® patients. Each year we prepare a comprehensive weight loss program as part of our annual preventive health examination. We then follow-up every 4-12 weeks to ensure we are doing everything possible to help you lose weight. Weight loss prescription medications and dietary supplements are also available.
Dr Payne is currently Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Prior to this he was Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of California Davis. His entire career has been spent teaching doctors to practice medicine. His approach to medical care is called "Evidence-based Medicine". The importance of this approach is that it seeks to use the most up-to-date treatments and techniques based on scientific evidence.
