This content was provided by Dr. Gollehon "Dr. Douglas L. Gollehon was the first sports medicine specialist to join Cary Orthopaedics in 1985, changing it from a solo practice to the growing practice known today. He attended Wake Forest University and Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency at Louisiana State University. Specializing in arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the knees and shoulders, Dr. Gollehon completed his Sports Medicine fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. While there, he worked with the New York Giants. Also, he practiced orthopaedics at Cincinnati Sports Medicine Center. Working with Cary Orthopaedics for over 30 years, Dr. Gollehon has been the team physician for Raleigh Cougars basketball and Green Hope High School. He also traveled to many parts of the globe as the Raleigh Skyhawks pro football team physician. Additionally, he is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1988."
