I needed to find a new urologist because I moved from NJ to Houston for work. I was seeing my NJ uro for probably about 8 years and I was used to him. I was nervous and had some anxiety finding a new urologist because I have many embarrassing issues and it's difficult for me to talk about. Going through this again with a new doctor had me a bit nervous. My NJ uro was at a convention in San Antonio and asked a rep for a good uro in Houston and that is how I discovered Dr. Dow. When I finally had my appointment with Dr. Dow I realized I was nervous/scared for nothing at all. He is very nice, understanding, professional and I felt extremely comfortable with him. I had such a huge relief from this. I have some uro problems that are very painful to the point I'm actually in tears. I saw Dr. Dow recently. He evaluated me and went over a treatment/medication for me. Now a few weeks later on I am feeling much better. I'm glad to have him as my new uro. I highly recommend Dr. Dow.

I have been going to Dr. Dow for 15-18 years, and I would say he the best. I am in the early stages of prostate cancer, I have no symptoms at all, and I contribute it to going to Dr. Dow and doing regular test. He will treat you like you were his own father. I have all the faith in Dr. Dow, would not change for any amount of money, he is the best......

Dr Dow has addressed my concerns and found a treatment which has led to a nearly-100% remission of my troublesome symptoms. He is courteous, respectful of my time, and thorough in providing follow-up information and test results. I am SO grateful that he had a spot for me on his Patient Roster!

Absolutely the worst office EVER. Calling for an appointment left several messages never get a call beck. Finally got someone to answer the phone was put on hold for 18 minutes then hung up on. Took 10 times calling back before someone picked up and was hung up on again. They do no respond to pharmacy request for Rx refills. Will NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr Dow performed robotic prostate surgery on me in May 2011. He has been regularly following me since then to ensures that the cancerous cells have not returned. He is smart, knowledgeable in his field and personable.

Dr. Dow is either careless or a poor doctor. He prescribed testosterone injections and said it shouldn't affect fertility. If he can make this error, what else can he miss?

Very satisfied with Dr. Dow; however, it is difficult to communicate via the phone system. One must leave a message which are supposedly returned at the end of the day. This doesn't always happen. i am waiting for the third day for lab results. My messages via the electronic Patient Portal haven't been answered in over a year and half, and the last lab results posted were from three years ago. So, in summary the medical care is excellent. The administrative processes need attention.

If only he would have done a CBC blood test to see I had infection. If he had he would have ran an atibiotic through my Iv prior to stent placement. I went in for a stent placement and came out with sepsis. It almost killed me. He was a new Dr I didn't know that. This doctor was very professional and kind. Till 2 yrs later I had another and he took it out wanted to discharge me quickly. I went to Galveston with a kidney bleed. I bleed easy but he was wrong. He was a young doc then. sorry

The only reason I am not sure on recommending Dr Dow is due to the long wait for your appt, even if you are there for a test with a full bladder! From reading others apparently staying close to a schedule is not possible in either office. May have to consider a change.

Dr. Dow is an excellent and understanding provider. Being that he works at different offices, his staff is what you should consider. Calling the Astoria office is a trying experience; Rachel and her staff do not treat your concerns as they would their own family. As a war veteran, I would think that they could show some appreciation. The Blossom office is a much better experience. Dawn and her staff are so much more caring and understanding than the Astoria office. Go to Blossom Street.
