This content was provided by Dr. Burns "I'm an expert in the evaluation and treatment of spine and musculoskeletal pain conditions and sports injuries, utilizing the most up-to-date diagnostics (exam, radiology, laboratory, consultations) and leading edge/evidence based treatments (medications, therapy, injections, surgery). I coordinate care among a broad spectrum of health professionals, including chiropractors, massage therapists and acupuncturists along with physical, occupational and speech therapists. I have performed more than 10,000 spinal procedures including the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine. At EvergreenHealth Sport& Spine Care, I split my practice between clinical diagnosis and treatment and interventional pain procedures. I've given several local, national and international presentations on spine pain related topics and have been a faculty member for many interventional pain technique courses. I'm also been involved in clinical research relating to the field of spinal interventional procedures, and in teaching physical medicine and rehabilitation residents as well as pain Fellows from the University of Washington School of Medicine. I enjoy medicine because as it's a great combo of dealing with science/technology as well as the human condition and being able to improve someone's life is immeasurable. I'm a Northwest native, and returned to Washington state after attending college in southern California. I live with my family in Redmond, and we enjoy the area's combination of outdoors plus arts, music, culture scene and being around our family. In our free time, we enjoy anything outside - on the water or in the mountains (road/mountain biking, snowboarding/skiing/xc skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, running, hiking, multi-sport)."
