Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. O'Malley Jr "I am a third-generation orthopedic surgeon from Pittsburgh who joined Duke when Duke Orthopaedics of Raleigh was founded. I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and I completed my orthopaedic residency training at the University of Pittsburgh. While at the University of Pittsburgh I trained with leaders in the fields of sports medicine and total joint replacement. I have treated professional and amateur athletes including members of the Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Penguins Pittsburgh Panthers and Pittsburgh Ballet as well as athletes from local colleges and high schools. I am an alumnus of Davidson College (1986) where I met my wife Cheryl a Raleigh native. We have two high school-aged children who are involved in band running golf and tennis. We live in North Raleigh. I am an avid golfer tennis player triathlete and sports/fitness fan. The healthy lifestyle of the Carolinas is a great benefit to me because I enjoy treating athletes of all ages and skill levels."
