      I was referred to Dr. Mazzulla by my optometrist for surgery. From the first visit, Dr. Mazzulla showed professionalism and caring with great bedside manners. He performed surgery on my eye and this went very well with a speady recovery. I am sold on this guy!!!!!

      Dr. Mazzulla's Care Philosophy

      Dr. Donald Mazzulla's interest in eye disease began at an early age. He comes from a family of eye care professionals, with a father and older sister who are optometrists. Dr. Mazzulla works onnational trials for age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He has presented several research projects at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and has published articles in peer -reviewed journals. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, Dr. Mazzulla earned his bachelor's degree and his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his transitional year internship at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. Dr. Mazzulla completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago prior to completing a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. He joined the staff at Ochsner in 2008. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology amd the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Ophthalmology. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University, where he enjoys teaching residents and fellows.
