I was referred to him, but have been very disappointed. I feel very rushed and he never remembers important info of mine from one appointment to the next. He doesn't seem like he cares and definetly doesn't want a conversation with you bc he's consistently running late with his next patient.

I would refer Dr. Nkwocha to anyone I know. I live two hours from his office and the drive is well worth it! He's very kind, personable, and professional. I'm definitely a very pleased patient.
in Atlanta, GA |
Dr. Nkwocha is a great psychiatrist! I go every two months for anxiety and ADHD medicines for grad school and work and he is always willing to work with me. I don't feel rushed and I always feel welcomed when talking to him.

Dr. Nkwocha's level of discernment is it exactly what I needed to deal with my mental disease. When things aren't going well I can not rely that I will answer appropriately to the doctor's questions. Without saying much Dr. Nkwocha is aware whether I am manic, hypo manic, or doing well. His professionalism is unmatched with his ability to focus on the things that really matter.

Very flexible and supportive.

I saw him while inpatient at Ridgeview & I liked him while I was there so I saw him once I was out as well. To me, he's kinda intimidating. He's not a doctor that I would call if I was having issues. He's knowledgeable in his field & with meds. My appts with him last all of 2 mins, so I feel rushed & forget to tell him things. The worst part is his secretary, Sheila. There hasn't been 1 appt that they haven't had to reschedule. She is unprofessional & rude - not sure how she still has a job.
in Marietta, GA |
I find the doctor to be very helpful ,however the secretary leaves much to be desired my experience with her leaves me stressed out each time I have the misfortune that its necessary to deal with her ,shes very unprofessional and I sometimes wonder why the doctoer hasn't had a conversation about her or if he even realizes her behavior.
Canton, GA |
I have never in my life dealt with such insensitivity. When I told Dr. Nkwocha that I hurt myself before, he asked to see my scar like he didn't believe me. He said if I didn't do a full partial hospitalization instead of the more reasonable intensive therapy he wouldn't sign off my disability ppwk so that I could be paid from my job. I heard from other staff he felt I was trying to avoid working. Sad thing is if he would have looked my patient notes from 2010 he could have seen my full history
in Atlanta, GA |
Very good doctor, but you will need some give and take here. I have seen him for 5 years and literally had the same experience every time. If you want to actually spend time with your psychiatrist, which is rare that any of them even do this, you must be willing to wait your turn. My advice is to stop complaining when you have a great doctor and make first available appts either in morning or after lunch. The wait is worth it.
