my closest friend and ex-partner recently had a mental/nervous breakdown manifesting as paranoia, hearing voices, seeing things, delusions that he was a target (of police, ICE, cartel, you name it)—he was admitted under the care of Dr. Dominic Nkwocha. I called to speak with a case manager or clinician so I could provide background and baseline information, Not one return phone call in 6 days! He was given a routine discharged by Dr. Nkwocha (meaning it was not AMA, against medical advice.) While his friend was waiting to pick him up, a staff member confided, “I saw him, and even though I don’t know him, I know he wasn’t ok. I don’t know why he was discharged.” Not only was he discharged prematurely by Dr. Nkwocha, and he was given no follow up plan. The mentally ill patient was left to fend for himself with his paranoia and voices, but when we took him back to Ridgeview he couldn't be admitted because it would prove Dr. Nkwocha was mistaken with his assessment.

Dr. Nkwocha treatment me as a patient at Ridgeview for Bi-Polar 1. He is an excellent psychiatrist. He listened to my questions and concerns. He managed my medications very well and got me very stable from a manic phase. My wife was able to communicate with him. She even wrote questions out questions for him and he answered out and for him to answer it. He accepted our BCBS insurance. I am very thankful that I was treated by Dr. Nkwocha. I would high recommend him!

This business is hands down the most unprofessional and disorganized doctor's office I have ever dealt with. No one answers calls, returns voicemails, checks voicemails. There is no email or internet presence, so no way to communicate via this method. No one calls you to tell you your appointment is delayed or re-scheduled. No one calls to schedule a follow-up appointment, as the doctor promised. No general intake forms to fill out. After a week of calls and voicemails and speaking to several people who verified my order had been called in, my pharmacy informs me the doctor STILL has not called in my Rx. I have been out of pills for days. Utterly deplorable service.

Wife of 45 years hospitalized at Ridgeview Institute for depression, assigned to Dr. Nkwocha. He refuses to communicate with her physician husband about her care. Told her he was too busy seeing patients at his office and hospitals, and he WOULD NOT talk to me on the phone at any time. Very brief visits with my wife. Appears uncaring and uncompassionate. Has failed to communicate with psychologist recommending the admission or her primary care doctor.

I do recommend this Foc however ive been a patient over the past few years and the lack of experience, empathy, timeliness makes this experience horrible. Notby the Foctor but his staff. They are complacent, uncaring and not forwarding info to Doc. Im trying to stay because he believes pin your carebur the "old women" he staffs. Not so great. Advice.. Hire new Staff!!! ASAP! YOU STE ABOYT TO LOSE ONEPATIENT IN ME AS I KNOW OTHERS HAVE LEFT, JUST FOR TBIS "FACT"!!!!

I always said that I would never go to a male Shrink.... I have been a client for close to 2 years, one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr.Nkwocha is excellent. He listens to me and remembers personal things about me and always ask how my daughter is. I couldn't ask

I was referred to him, but have been very disappointed. I feel very rushed and he never remembers important info of mine from one appointment to the next. He doesn't seem like he cares and definetly doesn't want a conversation with you bc he's consistently running late with his next patient.

Dr. Nkwocha is a great psychiatrist! I go every two months for anxiety and ADHD medicines for grad school and work and he is always willing to work with me. I don't feel rushed and I always feel welcomed when talking to him.

Dr. Nkwocha's level of discernment is it exactly what I needed to deal with my mental disease. When things aren't going well I can not rely that I will answer appropriately to the doctor's questions. Without saying much Dr. Nkwocha is aware whether I am manic, hypo manic, or doing well. His professionalism is unmatched with his ability to focus on the things that really matter.

I find the doctor to be very helpful ,however the secretary leaves much to be desired my experience with her leaves me stressed out each time I have the misfortune that its necessary to deal with her ,shes very unprofessional and I sometimes wonder why the doctoer hasn't had a conversation about her or if he even realizes her behavior.

I have never in my life dealt with such insensitivity. When I told Dr. Nkwocha that I hurt myself before, he asked to see my scar like he didn't believe me. He said if I didn't do a full partial hospitalization instead of the more reasonable intensive therapy he wouldn't sign off my disability ppwk so that I could be paid from my job. I heard from other staff he felt I was trying to avoid working. Sad thing is if he would have looked my patient notes from 2010 he could have seen my full history

Very good doctor, but you will need some give and take here. I have seen him for 5 years and literally had the same experience every time. If you want to actually spend time with your psychiatrist, which is rare that any of them even do this, you must be willing to wait your turn. My advice is to stop complaining when you have a great doctor and make first available appts either in morning or after lunch. The wait is worth it.
