Dr. He started practicing Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in China in 1992. He has been recertified and was licensed to practice in the USA. Upon successfully completing fellowship training in pediatric cardiovascular surgery, Dr. He became an attending Cardiovascular Surgeon of Children's National Heart Institute at Children's National Medical Center and George Washington University in Washington DC. His clinical interests included surgical treatment of congenital cardiovascular malformations and arrhythmias. Dr. He completed a thorough postgraduate training in vascular surgery, and he is currently a vascular surgeon at USA Vein Clinics, USA Vascular Centers. His clinical practice focuses on diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins of the superficial venous system. His clinical and research work lead to 40 publications in well-known journals, and he was invited to review and judge articles for peer-reviewed journals, Circulation, Journal of Cardiac Surgery, and book chapters for the publisher, Wiley. As the cardiovascular surgeon in a research team with George Washington University, he was awarded a patent for the invention of "Autonomic Stimulation of the AV Node to Control Rapid Atrial Arrhythmia" and a Technology Transfer Certificate for "Device to Control Atrial Arrhythmia". Furthermore, The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant of $350,000 from NIH for a new generation of catheters for treatment of atrial fibrillation and the one million dollar fund from Allied Minds Inc. were obtained for the research projects with Dr. He as a principal surgical investigator. His outstanding achievements were published in Thoracic Surgery News, International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Links Newsletter, and Science and Enterprise News. He was also awarded the best research poster / presenter by American College of Cardiology in 2014 and American Heart Association in 2016. Dr. He is fluent in English and Mandarin. He is also a member of the American College of phlebology, American Medical Association and the Society of Thoracic Surgery.
