Great bed-side manner, caring, compassionate, very good at listening to my concerns and answering all my questions. Very detail-oriented during entire visit, great physical examination. She took her time to go over everything (symptoms, concerns, medical history, medication, etc) I wish more doctors were this way. She’s definitely a keeper! I totally recommend her and her practice to anyone! Excellent office staff, very polite, beautiful clean medical office.

Excellent care from both her and her staff! I was referred to her from my primary MD after having some new symptoms and unsure if they were related to my migraines or not. Her and her staff were compassionate, through, and efficient! I’ve had a neurologist completely dismiss my symptoms for migraines (Which I have had my entire life) in the past so this visit was refreshing!!

After a epilepsy diagnosis, Dr. Counce told my husband and I we would likely not get pregnant, and if we did I would not carry to term. As a woman, to hear that from a doctor is heartbreaking. It was completely false, and I have been reassured by multiple doctors since that we would have no problems. I am now pregnant with controlled seizures no thanks to her or the many nurse practitioners she pawned me off on. The office staff was rude and incompetent. They had me do extensive testing, and the office staff assured me that they had called my insurance and it was covered. You can imagine my surprise when I received a bill for upwards of $3000. I am certainly to blame for not double checking, but I had just gotten a life changing diagnosis, and was told I wouldn't conceive. I dont tend to leave scathing reviews but as we got pregnant, I felt it was necessary. Do yourself a favor and go to a different doctor if you have any serious neurological issues.

Dr. Counce has been my doctor for 10 plus years. In fact, I credit her with being able to walk today. I have a strange muscle condition and it was her patience that led to an accurate diagnosis and treatment. She is very professional, listens closely to her patients, and treats the whole person. She is incredibly thorough. Her office is well run and the staff is very competent.

I have been Dr. Counce's patient for over 10 years. I have a very complicated medical history and I consider Dr. Counce one of my best physicians. She is not only extremely smart and knowledgeable but also is one of the very few physicians that takes the time to truly listen to me and who really cares about me as a person. She understands that I have been through a lot and she always has a listening ear and a warm, empathetic heart. Best neurologist in Birmingham.

Dr. Counce is incredibly smart, an amazing diagnostician. I'm a Regisrered Nurse and I trust her judgement implicitly. Her wait times are no more than any other specialist, and in her case, well worth it. I know she is taking the time to listen patiently, fully to the patients ahead of me as she will to me. I recently took my son to see her with a very nonspecific complaint. She immediately diagnosed him, when others missed it.

I started seeing Dr. Counce with a rare disease (Behcet's) when she first opened her practice. First Dr. I had gone to that knew Behcet's. She has saved my life in many ways. She also totally saved my daughter's life by being a hop ahead of every one else. I love to sing her praises because she has helped me medically in so many ways and I know she can and does help others.

I have been a patient of Dr. Counce's for 5 years. During this time, my issues have sometimes been difficult to pinpoint as well as medicate due to the fact that I have seizures, debilitating migraines, some muscle weakness and neck and back problems. Dr. Counce has continued to research the newest medications and treatments for me, NEVER giving up of helping me to eventually become pain/seizure free. In addition, Dr. Counce stays abreast of the most current research in neurology. She’s amazing

I have been seeing Dr. Counce for over 10 years. I receive Botox injections every 3 months and have had numerous tests done over the years. She is knowledgeable, courteous and personable. Even though my health insurance changed to a provider she did not accept at the time she continued to see me as her patient. The wait is sometimes longer than I would like but her service makes that wait worthwhile. Even though I do not like the injections, I actually enjoy my visit with her.

I have been seeing Dr. Counce for almost 10 years. I’m medically disabled because of all my neurological problems. She has helped control my severe, chronic daily migraines to the point that I rarely feel them. She also treats a multitude of other issues that I have. I’m a complicated patient because I’ve been dealing with cancer for 5 years and the treatments have caused more neurologic problems. Dr. Counce handles it all! She has such a wide range of knowledge; I couldn’t get by without her!

Dr. Counce has been the only Neurologist that has ever been able to have any impact on my migraine headaches. She and her staff truly sit down and listen to you. I have been suffering chronic daily severe migraines for 30+ years and have been under the care of all the specialists, experts, deans, and gurus of migraine, and Dr. Counce has them all beat in my opinion. The 30% reduction is more than a week of headaches to me, and it's increasing. That is a new life to me. Thanks to Dr. Counce.

Absolutely the unfriendliest receptionist in the state of Alabama. Also, if you make an appointment and you don't specify that you want to see Dr. Counce, then you only speak with the Nurse Practionar. The CRNP wasn't even knowledgeable of what the concern was and only wanted to add more medicine. Will not return.
