My goal as a physician is to deliver quality medical care with compassion and dignity. I aim to approach the specific needs of the whole patient; formulating personalized assessments and plans, while applying the highest standards in the art and science of medicine to achieve the best possible outcomes. I strive to bring a fresh, focused, and individualized perspective to each and every clinical encounter. The privilege of being permitted to care for people comes with a strict obligation to stay up to date in my field of practice through an active program of continuing medical education and life-long learning.
Why I Became a Medical Provider:
I knew I wanted to be a physician as a young child. Medicine has always been a calling for me. I consider it a privilege to have the skills; experience and knowledge to relieve suffering, restore life and promote the well being of my patients and community.
Personal Interests and Hobbies:
It is important to me to be a good father, husband and citizen. I enjoy reading poetry, classics, history and eastern philosophy. I am a world traveler and delight in discovering new forms of art and music. Looking for new ways to use technology to improve health outcomes.
I have a long history of volunteer community service and over the years have founded/co founded several non-profits to improve community health. I have led non-governmental organizations and have worked in Asia, Africa, South America and the U.S. to support local and national responses to AIDS, Hepatitis, and Public Health Events of International Concern (e.g., Bird Flu and Ebola). I am currently working on a new start up non-profit, which promotes community driven innovation to improve the health and well being of vulnerable populations (everywhere).
