He is highly skilled in an innovative approach to the treatment of brain and spinal cord diseases from inside the blood vessels, called endovascular therapy. Dr. Lopes specializes in the removal of blood clots in the brain, the opening of clogged and diseased blood vessels and the treatment of weaknesses in the blood vessel walls called aneurysms. He also is highly accomplished in all three areas of treatment used for arteriovenous malformations.
