Dr. Heck spent a good amount of time with my husband and I while my son was admitted during a weekend stay at Sheppard Pratt children's hospital department. Her knowledge of anxiety medications for children was very helpful and her ultimate recommendation was to try a medication more effective for children and advised that we take our time in making our decision on the medication. She also correctly diagnosed our son with having experienced a traumatic event which his therapist later confirmed

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Debra Heck, MD?
Dr. Heck did not litsen to my concerns about medication despite the fact that I told her and other staff members every day. I was so disappointed by her indifference - she was supposed to help. Because she did not change my medication, I attempted suicide. She then would not let me back into the program and stopped taking both my doctors and my calls. I am not the only one that has had this happen with her. If you or a loved one want to get better, don't go to her or Sheppard Pratt.
