    Debashish Bose, MD, Ph.D., is the Director of the Pancreas Center at UF Health Cancer Center — Orlando Health. He is also chief of GI Surgical Oncology in the Gastrointestinal Cancer Specialty Section at UF Health Cancer Center — Orlando Health. Dr. Bose is board-certified in general surgery and holds a specialty certificate in surgical oncology. He specializes in surgery of the pancreas, liver, stomach and upper abdomen. Dr. Bose has been part of the center's Multidisciplinary GI Oncology team since 2010. Since then, UF Health Cancer Center — Orlando Health has developed into a high volume specialist center for cancers of the pancreas and liver. Dr. Bose and his colleagues have also developed specialized programs such as the Borderline Resectable program for pancreatic cancer and Liver Resection for metastatic neuroendocrine cancers.

    Dr. Bose graduated from Princeton University, after which he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine for medical school and graduate school. He completed his residency in general surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Bose then completed the fellowship in surgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. As a recipient of the Ruth L. Kirschtein National Research Service Award in Cancer Research, Dr. Bose also completed his postdoctoral research fellowship in cancer biology. Dr. Bose's research has been recognized with several awards, and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Lancet Oncology and the Journal of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Bose is currently an associate member of the American College of Surgeons.
