Smooth tonsil surgery and recovery for my 5 year old. Nice guy, quick to return calls.
in Lake Bluff, IL |
My 5 year-old had the back of her earring embedded in her ear lobe. It was infected and very painful. When Dr Walner walked in, he did NOT wash his hands or wear gloves before examining her ear! He then began touching the infected area, pushing, prodding until she screamed in pain. He said the ONLY way to get it out would be for her to go to the O.R. under anesthesia. So I consulted a pediatric plastic surgeon. Solution: topical cream, a small injection, a tiny incision and no stitches!
All physicians in our practice use hand washing and / or hand sanitizer prior to and after seeing each and every patient in our office. Many children require procedures under anesthesia if they cannot cooperate in the office; but we do our best to work with all patients to discuss all options for optimal treatment and patient comfort. We are sorry you did not have a good experience in our office; but we are glad things worked out well for your child.

Wonderful dr, very knowledgeable, explained everything in great detail. Performed surgery on my son and we could not be happier with the outcome
Crystal Lake, IL |
Dr. Walner was very good about explaining all procedures that my child was subjected to. He called me several times at home after hours; once to answer a question, and another time to check to see how my child was feeling.
in Park Ridge Illinois |
Unpleasant experience.Waited over 1 hour to see the DR.Doctor was aware of my child's symptoms (common cold) and proceeded by evaluating him with a tongue depressor. After my child coughed the Doctor responded by making a grossed out look, leaned back, walked away and washed his hands and face like if my child was an animal. His response was not acceptable for a health care professional. This M.D. is supposed to be qualified to work with Peds and I wouldn't refer anyone to go see this guy.Not happy

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
