There may not be a warm disposition, hugs and cuddles! Lol! We are now in a pandemic so people are not looking for that anymore anyway! I love Dr. Walner. He was matter of fact and to the point! After he performed my son’s adenoidectomy, his support staff was amazing, (they are very personable and make kids feel comfortable). To my surprise, he called us between 9-9:30p that night to follow up on my son! I was highly impressed! In all my years I have Never had a doctor follow up after hours! Thank you Dr. Walner! Procedure went exactly as he explained and we are so happy with the outcome!

Both of my kids have gone to Dr. Walner for years. He is very patient and thorough and has taken issues seriously that I just knew were causing problems, but that other doctors had previously dismissed outright. He can tell what's going on immediately and is very thorough in explaining conditions, options, his recommendations, and what to expect. He is great at setting kids at ease before an exam or surgery. And, one thing I really appreciate is that he is very responsive to phone calls when we have had ear infections crop up on vacation. Dealing with the office staff isn't always my favorite experience. It's not always clear who you are talking to or even which office you are talking to, and some staff members are super great and helpful, while others are terse and unhelpful, so that part can be frustrating. But I do think it's gotten a little better in the past few years. And i wouldn't change doctors due to office staff. We are really happy and comfortable with Dr. Walner.

He is straight and to the point, he doesn’t explain in layman terms and talks very fast, but he knows what he is doing and a VERY good doctor. He doesn’t rush into invasive tests or procedures, he will work to get to root of issue and treat before going to bigger and better. Also, he mindful of costs and ways to help patient control out of pocket expenses. Which is nice. I will take needs improvement on bedside, for competency and solid sound medicine any day.

Personally I did not like him for my son & I am glad he’s not his doctor. When he went to go look in my sons ears, he moved his head roughly to the side. My son hasn’t seen him before so he was crying because he was a new doctor/face to him so I thought he’d be more sincere but he wasn’t. I would not recommend him. We like Dr Casper but because of the situation we had to see Dr Walner. Hoping when I have to take my son back again in August we won’t have to see him.

Dr. Walner is always very kind and gentle when taking care of my daughter. At the same time, he is swift with his care, and gets right to the point. He explains things well and advises us as he would a family member. We are 100% happy with and 100% confident in Dr. Walner!

Poor bedside manner. Rather than asking me to provide consent to obtain my medical records from PCP, he told me to call my PCP to gather my medical info and then call his office with my lab and previous test results. I got the impression that he had no interest in looking into my medical records nor treating me.

Dr. Walner has seen both of our boys over the last three years and is exceptional. He is proactive in his approach to remedy ENT deficiencies but also ensures all steps are taken to create a comprehensive treatment plan. Our oldest had his adenoids shaved and tubes put in at 10 months old and his tonsils removed at 2.5 years old due to hearing and breathing issues. Both times, Dr. Walner performed the operations flawlessly. Our son was back to himself the following day! Our 20 month old goes in this month for tonsils, adenoids and tubes and we again have full confidence in Dr. Walner's abilities. It was Dr. Walner who recommended a sleep study which revealed 96 partial/full breathing obstructions overnight, prompted the tonsil removal at such a young age. Thank you, Dr. Walner and ENT Illinois!

Dr. Walner was quick, to the point. Comes across as very competent. Doesn’t have a very pleasant bedside manner and isn’t a warm, welcoming type, but we were seen quickly and he was efficient. Not a warm, fuzzy doc if that’s what you’re looking for with your kid. But if that doesn’t matter to you and you prefer a more clinical demeanor, he’d be great!

Wait time was over 45 minutes to see the physician. Literally some of the rudest front desk/nursing/medical assistance staff I’ve ever encountered.
