My philosophy is the best care for a patient comes through a close partnership between the physician (me),the patient (most of my patients are children), and the patient's family. Good communication is essential for taking excellent care of the patients. I also spend a lot of time discussing each person's particular medical situation with the family, including a specific plan of treatment, and how we can best stay in contact for any future issues that arise. I am also interested in preventing rather than merely treating existing heart disease. I emphasize the importance of living a healthy lifestyle for all my patients to build healthy hearts in children and families. Because of my belief in a healthy lifestyle, I regularly ride my bicycle to work, go to yoga classes, and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grain foods.
