This content was provided by Dr. Sabgir "My care philosophy is built on connection and friendship. This allows me to work as a team with my patients; in moving towards healthier habits, activity and progress. Since 80% of cardiac disease is preventable through lifestyle changes, I find the greatest success when I walk alongside our community in their efforts to make positive changes.
My philosophy of care led me to found Walk With a Doc, which is now in over 340 chapters around the world. Over a weekend walk, docs and community members meet on your terms in a beautiful setting to connect, and support a healthy lifestyle. Most importantly, we are doing this while walking or wheelchair rolling. The opportunity to do this is a gift. The program benefits us doctors just as much as anyone. Every single minute, every single smile, reminds me of why I went into medicine and goes a long way in preventing burnout. Over 600 Saturdays have come and gone since founding Walk with a Doc and I still hate to miss one."
