I tore my ACL in the mist of the pandemic (October 2021). I hade ACL reconstruction surgery February 2, 2022. Dr Privitera and his team were very helpful every step of the way, with any questions or concerns.

Full recovery from complicated shoulder surgery
I've had recurring shoulder problems for the past 6 years--since a different surgeon repaired my right rotator cuff and it never really healed correctly. I'm quite active and kind of abuse my shoulder in ultimate frisbee, so my rotator cuff was pretty banged up again. Revision surgeries are always difficult. I'm a mountain climber, so I told Dr. P that I need full and complete recover. One year later I have no pain and no restrictions on my shoulder. I can bang snow pickets into the ice with my ice axe with no problems! Rotator cuff surgery is painful--there's no way around that. But if you want a surgery done right so that it heals fully and correctly, then Dr. P is the guy to go to. I've unfortunately seen MANY ortho's in my life and I have more confidence in Dr. P than any of them. He is knowledgeable, skilled, and takes the time to fully understand your problem. I never feel rushed with him as he gives me his full attention and careful attention to my shoulder.

Incredible! M son is a D1 wrestler at Binghamton University. He suffered a severe shoulder injury in the spring of 2018 and had unsuccessful surgery in Binghamton shortly after . He was unable to successfully returned to the sport he loved since he was a child . A friend recommended doctor privitera for a second opinion . We never regretted our decision . We met with him several times prior to the surgery and he explained every detail, every risk to us .Dr. Privitera performed shoulder surgery on my son in January of 2020. It was an extensive surgery with no guarantees that it would allow him to return to the Collegiate level he needed to be at. After several months of rehab and physical therapy my son returned to the mat tonight and wrestled amazing!!! He pinned his opponent in just over two minutes! He said his shoulders felt amazing, strong and most importantly secure! I would recommend dr. Privitera for any athlete who wants a dedicated surgeon who is incredibly skilled!

Dr. Privitera saved me from a life of inactivity. As a 61 year old female with a complex set of torn menisci, Dr. P was determined to save as much as my radial and lateral menisci as possible. He warned me that it would be a difficult 1 yr. recovery. HIs support was unwavering. I've used many doctors in my life, and there isn't one who achieves the standard of expertise and patient care that Dr. David Privitera does. Seek him out, and tell him I said hello from Valencia, Spain!!

Dr. Privitera is outstanding. After 3 years of constant hip pain, I am now back to a completely normal life. I followed all of his instructions after surgery, went for my regularly scheduled visits, and completed my PT per his instructions. One year later, I am pain free. He always welcomed my questions with easily understood explanations and never made me feel rushed. Because of this, he does run behind at times. However, he is easy to talk to, professional, thorough, and caring.

Dr. Privitera is outstanding. I broke 3 bones in my ankle and dislocated it.... the surgery was difficult and took twice as long due to crushed bone from the trauma. Dr. P was meticulous and the most caring doctor I’ve ever had. He was always extremely friendly, compassionate and patient....spent all of the time necessary to address my concerns or questions and never seemed rushed. The injury and recovery was difficult and overwhelming, and Dr P was the silver lining. He is a class act.

Dr. Privitera performed a medium complexity rotator cuff and labrum repair on my right shoulder in March 2017. The damage was more extensive than the MRI revealed, but he took the necessary time in surgery to repair the damage. One year out from surgery I have complete range of motion and strength. At every office visit, Dr. Privitera thoroughly explained what to expect and gave me as much time as needed to answer my questions. He is a very skilled surgeon and a very caring/patient individual.

Dr. Privitera is great! I tore my left ACL in October 2016. Surgery was scheduled for Jan. 2017 and I have been following up with him about every 2 months since my initial visit in 2016. He is very knowledgeable and offers the patient a few options, while recommending his best option when it comes to types of grafts/surgery. Privitera is genuinely empathetic when it comes to patient concerns and was able to relate to my case because he too had ACL surgery about 20 years ago. Highly recommend!
