Dr. O'Connor's bio

This content was provided by Dr. O'Connor "I am a vascular and endovascular surgeon based out of Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey where I have been in clinical practice since 2012. I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the arteries and veins, including medical therapy, surgical treatment, and minimally invasive endovascular procedures. I believe in tailoring individual therapy to each patient's overall health with a particular focus on an individual's anatomy to offer the least invasive treatment possible. As part of a tertiary referral center, my practice includes treating a combination of patients with complex vascular conditions referred from other institutions as well as treatment of the more common vascular disorders. I have a particular interest in the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, renal artery disease, and venous disorders. In addition to clinical practice, I am also actively involved in teaching and research. My additional responsibilities include serving as the Director of Vascular Research for the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center and I am an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall. As Director of Vascular Research I oversee the clinical trials related to vascular disease, and being a part of these trials also gives us earlier access to the best technology available. "

My doctor recommended Dr O'Conner when it was determined that my right carotid artery had narrowed considerably. The artery was operated on some 15 years ago and surgery again was not an option. After consultation and tests and placing my mind at ease Dr O'Conner placed a stent in my artery. The...more
