Very competent, takes time to answer questions, explains exactly what will take place during joint replacement surgery and shows you exactly what the new joint looks like. He explains what to expect after surgery and what you must do before and after surgery. He is precise and delivers all of the information with a smile and a friendly manner. My hip replacement was 4 weeks ago and I'm ahead of schedule. Been driving for 1 week and am walking without any assistance. Joint Acadamey is fabulous.

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Newbern's Care Philosophy

To provide highly specialized Hip and Knee replacemnt expertise for patients by doing only hip and knee replacement work in high volume ('practice makes perfect') and by bringing the latest developments in my field from cutting edge research by members of AAHKS and CHKS-the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Center for Hip and Knee surgery. When patients leave my office they should have every question answered and fully understand their problem and the different treatment options. They are visiting a Fellowship-Trained Sub-specialist who performs over 300 joint replacements per year rather than a general orthopedist who may do 30-40 joint repacements per year.
