What People Say About Dr. David McGroarty, MD

I saw this doctor for years, he had to run more than 10 different tests on me. He would constantly prescribe the same medications even though they didn't work. He also wouldn't listen to me, saying that my weight was causing my stomach pains, cramping, nausea, vomiting. It wasn't. He would ignore my issues and only focus on my weight, he put his hands around my waist and started laughing and said "I mean COME ON!" He caused me so much emotional distress and pain and suffering. Never diagnosed me

I have been going to see Dr. McGroaty for about 10 years. He has always given me concise explanations, great medical advice, performed outstanding procedures, and just generally given me the best GI care I could imagine. He is the most skilled, most knowledgeable, and I trust him to always give me the best GI care available in the metro Richmond area. You can't do any better in the GI area than Dr. McGroaty.

He’s the best! Dr McGroarty became very familiar with my colon over the years. I moved from Richmond but I would highly recommend him.

I feel he's knowledgeable in his field but ignores or fails to recognize if you deal with other severe medical issues. So waiting over an hour for just a follow up appointment in an empty waiting room is painful! Excuse given was because he was making calls to hospitals which was a bunch of bull! Because when I was finally directed to a room (I heard him talking to his wife or someone in the family about running errands after work). Then after 15 more minutes waiting I finally left due to pain.

After the procedure, Dr. Mc Groarty personally called my urologist and discussed the case/plan of care with him. I have already recommended him to a friend for their care.

I spent a year of wasted time and money, I did not have on seeking help from this doctor! I am very ill and all I got was a lot of run around and no help at all for my condition! The office staff will now allow you to be seen if you cannot pay your co-pays at time of service! It made it very hard on me! Were are the good GI doctors in this town???
